Duties Of The Electoral Committee
- The Electoral Committee of the Association (in this Schedule referred to as “the ECNBA” or “the Committee”) shall be responsible for the conduct of elections of National Officers of the Association and election of NBA Representatives to the General Council of the Bar.
- Upon the appointment of the ECNBA, the Committee shall remain in office until a new ECNBA is appointed in accordance with the provision of this Constitution.
- The ECNBA shall, when necessary have and work with its own personnel in the discharge of its duties.
- Completed nomination forms received in respect of elections to the national offices and election of NBA Representatives to the General Council of the Bar shall be forwarded to the Secretariat of the ECNBA.
- The ECNBA shall upon consideration of the nominations it receives, conduct a screening of the candidates, and determine the qualifications of the candidates concerned not later than 60 (sixty) clear days before the date of the election.
- The ECNBA may reject nomination papers which do not comply with any of the requirements for nomination and election to offices within the Association, or which are otherwise not duly completed.
